The story of Inovateus Development begins with one man's desire to make a difference in this world. Thomas Kanczuzewski, successful in business, blessed with a large family, and having a heart for helping others, wanted to find a way to impact society and help "save the world." Ambitious as ever, Tom looked for a way to change our society from one addicted to oil into one free from polluting hydrocarbons and dependent on renewable, natural resources.

In 2004, Tom chanced upon life-long friend and high school buddy Ed Smith. Having been a builder for many years, Ed was dissatisfied with the status quo and was looking for a way to make a difference. Together Tom and Ed formed Inovateus Development LLC to do just that. By pooling their resources, they were able to acheive together that neither had accomplished separately.

With a keen focus placed on energy efficient construction, LEED certification and Energy Star qualification, Inovateus has become the area leader in green housing. The first to build a LEED certified home in Benton Harbor, MI as well as the first Energy Star rated house in that community, Inovateus continues to push forward with renewable construction techniques throughout the Michiana region.
